At Jubilee High we support students not only academically, but pastorally in their emotional and social wellbeing.
Every student meets their tutor in tutor groups at the beginning of each day and your form tutor should be the first port of call for queries. In addition to this our Inclusion Team works alongside the Heads of Year to support students with their emotional and social needs. Where appropriate we also source and use external support agencies.
It is widely recognised that emotional health and wellbeing influences cognitive development and learning, as well as physical and social health and mental wellbeing in adulthood. Our aim is to support each student as an individual.
Our pastoral support system and tutorial programmes, which includes PSHE sessions, focus on key areas of mental health and wellbeing which are both relevant and meaningful. We know the benefits of positive mental health and research has shown that young people with good mental health:
- Show better improvement
- Develop good relationships with friends and family
- Develop a sense of right and wrong
- Learn from their experiences
- Have the confidence to try new things
- Develop resilience to face life challenges
The support systems in place are accessible to students throughout the school day from 8am – 4pm. Additionally our pastoral leaders work extremely hard to ensure any queries or concerns from parents and carers are dealt with swiftly and effectively.
