Royal Holloway University visit

On Thursday 18th May eleven students from Jubilee High visited Royal Holloway University for the ‘Fascination of Plants’ day, an event designed to celebrate Ecology clubs in schools and inspire future generations of British scientists and botanists. The students had an extremely interesting and enjoyable day taking part in practical workshops exploring seeds, learning how to draw plants and finding out how genes determine the shape of plants. They also visited the Herbarium which has over 7,000 preserved specimen plants and were fascinated by the work currently being undertaken on bees and pollinators which make Royal Holloway University a leading source of research in this vitally important area.
