Careers Information

At Jubilee High School we know that it is vital that our students understand their future career opportunities from an early age and we consider careers information, advice and guidance as an important topic.

Because of this we have now incorporated career-related activities into our PHSE lessons, which all students cover once a week in tutor time, and our Option process incorporates talks from subject specialists about which industries would fit their particular skills.  We also buy into independent advice from a careers provider.

Our Year 8 students have access to a careers website Online National Careers Service (click here) to inform and support their interests and choices, and we also invite college staff to present assemblies and attend our KS3 Progress Evenings.

In Year 11 every student is guaranteed at least one face-to-face meeting with a professional careers advisor and have a bespoke action plan designed specifically for them.

Telephone Advice

To support our commitment to give our students the best possible careers information and guidance we would like to make students and parents aware of this national service which has recently been launched.

The Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) provides a telephone careers helpline for all students as part of the National Careers Service.

Support is available from trained advisors who will talk through issues, offering confidential advice and practical help. Advisors are available from 8am to 10pm, seven days a week on 0800 100 900, or by text message on 0776 641 3219.

We very much hope that this will be a useful, additional service that will benefit Jubilee High students in guiding them towards the right career choice.
